Accessible and Assistive Technology
Smart pens, document conversion, audio recording and transcription, as well as note taking are just a few technologies available to students either through borne accessible platforms, technology you may already be using, or other means.
Accessible technology is a technology designed with the needs of the largest amount of users in mind, in other words universal design. This technology employs built-in customization features so that users can really individualize their experience to meet their needs.
Assistive technology is specifically designed to help a person with a disability to perform a task. Assistive technology alone will never guarantee access for people with disabilities. Accessing information in any form is only possible when that information is born accessible, meaning it was designed with accessibility in mind.
If you have been approved, please call 951-827-3861 to schedule an appointment with an accessible technology specialist. Discover what will work best for your specific needs.
