*About:*
Originally established as Fresno State Normal School in 1911, California
State University, Fresno became a teacher's college in 1921, and since
1949, it has been providing advanced degrees. One of the 23 campuses of
California State University, one of the biggest university systems in the
world, is Fresno State. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges and
the California Board of Education have granted the university their
accreditation. it boasts some of the greatest number of nationally approved
departmental programs in the CSU system, with 26. The institution enrolled
more than 21, 500 students, and roughly 4,400 students finished studies for
bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees by Commencement 2009. 1,100
full-time and part-time employees; 96% of tenured faculty members have
terminal degrees or doctorates in their fields of expertise. Located at the
base of the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range, on the northeastern
fringe of Fresno, California, are the 388-acre main campus of Fresno State
and its 1,011-acre University Farm. One of the richest agricultural regions
in the world is the San Joaquin Valley that surrounds it. Furthermore,
Fresno is California's sixth- largest city. The university is within an
hour's of various mountain and lake resorts and within a three or four hour
journey of both Los Angeles and San Francisco.

*Career of the Month: Agronomist*
An expert in the science and practice of managing soil and producing field
crops, an agronomic is a specialist in agronomy. They are responsible for
managing and researching soil science, meteorology, plant physiology, and
plant genetics. They have a role of examining crops to find ways to improve
quality, encourage growth, and treat ailments. Agronomists are essentially
the intermediaries between farmers and agricultural researchers, sharing
cutting-edge solutions to improve farming practices.
Depending on the agronomy industry, an agronomist's duties may vary from
day to day. As a agronomic, you may be requested to do the following task:
conduct experiments, gather and evaluate data, develop new methods, and
communicate information.
*Degree Level*
Bachelor's in biology, ecology, soil science, agriculture, crop and plant
science
*Licensing*
Don't typically need a license but for certain jobs, you would have to get
a Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) or a Qualified Applicator License
(QAL).
*Experience *
Get as much hands-on experience as you can work in an agricultural context
to improve your chances of landing a great job after graduation. you may be
able to include work experience into your studies at your university or
training center. Even if it isn't part of the curriculum, they may offer a
job service that may assist you in locating relevant options, especially if
you are attending an agricultural college.

*An overview of how to become a Biological Engineer*
------------------------------
- Earn a bachelor's degree in agricultural science, agronomy, or a
similar discipline. Agricultural economics and plant science are common
course topics.
- Take part in fieldwork or internships to obtain real-world experience.
This may entail employment with agricultural businesses, in labs, or on
farms.
- Some places may require certification or licensure, so check local
regulations. Certification programs are provided by groups such as the
American Society of Agronomy.
- Engage in continual learning through workshops, conferences, and
publications to keep up with innovation in agricultural technology and
methods.
- To network with other agronomists and business experts, join
organizations for professional. This may present prospects for
collaboration and job leads.
