About
California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), was founded in 1949 as a public university, and is the #1 most applied to institution within the CSU’s.The campus is 322 acres, and currently has over 39,000 thousand students enrolled with around 3,000 of faculty and staff serving the institution. The university widely promotes no barriers to opportunities in order to achieve success. As of 2023, U.S News & World Report ranked the university No.1, for promotion in social mobility. The university widely encourages diversity and inclusivity, including serving 48.5% of Hispanic/Latino Undergraduates, followed by 20% of Asian- Americans. While still being selective with an admissions rate of 47%. The university granted over $254M scholarships, over 72% of undergraduate students received some financial aid, and 50% were eligible for pell grants. Additionally 54% of the undergraduate students will be the first in their family to receive a bachelor's degree. The univeristy contains 8 colleges, with approximately 90 majors, the most common being Business Administration and Management, and Psychology.  The average cost of attendance, with admissions for California resident is 28,482 and 38,778 for out of state.

Student Life
CSULB produces inclusive communities that assist in personal and social development, academic achievement and great citizenship. They provide various leadership opportunities to achieve a healthy nondiscrimination and diverse campus. Including the office of multicultural affairs which helps institute as a growing community for African, Mexican, Asian- Pacific, and Indian American students may come together. They additionally offer various sports and clubs including Grupo Folklorico, Soccer, Baseball, and even Roller Skating. Greek life is an integral part of campus providing ample opportunities for leadership and philanthropy opportunities. The campus has over 300 recognized organizations representing 12 diverse categories. With the addition of programs , resources, and services Leadership Resource Center, SLD Academic Travel Funds, and Leadership at the Beach.

Career of the Month:
Marketing Specialist

A marketing specialist is responsible for creating and implementing advertising, pricing and marketing strategies for brand awareness, and the sale of products and services. They conduct research through analysis on consumer data and marketing trends. They maintain and advise members with large projects including campaigns and marketing plans. With responsibilities that include but are not limited to  social media, web marketing, predictive analytics all corresponding to digital marketing. As a marketing specialist, the  main goals are to maintain and retain brand loyalty and awareness by strengthening companies and promoting sales. Many specialists are employees to large corporations but others do work as independent contractors.

In order to obtain this career you would generally need to obtain a bachelors degree typically in marketing, business administration, communications, or advertising. Additionally for many marketing specialist jobs a Masters or Doctorate Degree is encouraged but not required. This can also be applied to any other special marketing trainings or licenses, offered by the American Marketing Association or even Google, Facebook, and Twitter. About 77% of most common marketing specialists purely obtain their Bachelors; and utilize professional digital certifications to express their eagerness to pursue the challenges of modern marketing. According to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth will vary on speciality, industry, and location as demand for marketing is expected to grow as fast as the average for all occupations
