About
University of California, Davis is a public institution that was founded in 1905. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 31,532 (fall 2022), and the campus size is 5,300 acres. It utilizes a quarter-based academic calendar. University of California, Davis' ranking in the 2024 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, #28. Its in-state tuition and fees are $15,266; out-of-state tuition and fees are $46,043. In addition to being top-ranked in veterinary science and agriculture and forestry, the top 10 majors at UC Davis include: Biological and Biomedical Sciences; Social Sciences; Psychology; Engineering; Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Mathematics and Statistics; Visual and Performing Arts; Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services; and Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies.

The University of California, Davis, one of 10 schools in the University of California system, was originally established as a farm school for UC Berkley. Located just 15 miles from Sacramento, UC Davis' campus contains an airport, fire department and a collection of outdoor sculptures called Eggheads. There are more than 700 student organizations on campus in addition to a sizable Greek community that comprises about 65 fraternity and sorority chapters. All freshmen are guaranteed housing, and after their first year students typically move off campus or live in university apartments. The UC Davis Aggies field 25 NCAA Division I teams, and students can join the Aggie Pack, the largest student spirit organization in the country.

UI Design

A UI designer is someone who designs the graphical user interface of an app, website, or device that a human interacts with. For example, when you access a website or an app on your phone, there’s usually a graphical interface that allows you to navigate and achieve your goal. UI designers create and optimize the interactive elements that facilitate your actions, such as buttons, menus, breadcrumbs, progress bars, and accordions.

UX Design

UX designers are grounded in data. This data is gathered when you conduct user research, where you collect data from your target audience and ideal product users and analyze it to empower your design decisions. With this data, you can create user personas—or snapshots that profile user groups or types to help you quickly assess the wider needs of your users—as well as map out user journeys. During these sessions, you can identify user needs and use it to help you create better designs. Designers specializing in user experience (UX) study how people use products, conduct usability tests and iterate on their designs due to this input.

Bachelor's in graphic design, interaction design, psychology or computer science

N/A but certifications are recommended (Ex: Google UX Design Professional Certificate, General Assembly UX Design Immersive)
