The University of Redlands is a private, coeducational, liberal arts and sciences university of 5,000 students in Redlands, California. UoR opened its doors in 1907 and is ranked #5 according to the 2021 edition “Best Colleges” Regional Universities West. UoR is centrally located near the beaches, mountains, and desert in the heart of Southern California. The university's 160-acre main campus features orange groves, architectural landmarks, and more than 1,700 trees.

Its tuition and fees total $53,716 for in-state and out-of-state undergraduate students. However, more than 90% of their students receive financial aid. UoR offers competitive financial aid packages for qualifying high school students, like The Redlands Promise, which caps tuition at $22,000. The university also offers to cover full tuition in grants and/or scholarships to Cal Grant A recipients through the Cal Grant Full Tuition Guarantee.

The UoR Bulldogs compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), which operates within NCAA Division III. The university competes in 21 sports: ten men's teams and eleven women's teams. The school has over 100 active clubs and organizations, and students can easily create their own! The University of Redlands offers its undergraduate students guaranteed housing during their four years of study and, for the most part, undergraduate students are required live on campus unless they live within a 30 mile radius.

UoR offers more than 40 undergraduate programs, as well as 33 graduate programs in business, communication sciences and disorders, education, geographic information systems, music, and public policy. The distinctive Johnston Center for Integrative Studies enables self-motivated undergraduates to create their own degrees. Notable UoR alumni include American lawyer David Boies and American jazz saxophonist Gerald Albright.

Software engineers are responsible for developing software programs or systems that align with user needs. Successful engineers know how to use the right programming languages, platforms, and architectures to develop everything from computer games to network control systems.
