Oral Proficiency Testers for Burmese, Cambodian, Indonesian, Lao, Malay, Taosug, and Thai Language
American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)
This is paid contract work. Cambodian is a special priority.
Requirements:
• Native speaker of the language
• Experience as a translator/interpreter or teacher
• BA or Equivalent (Graduate level study preferred)
• Post-childhood experience living in the country where the language is spoken

Luce Asian Archaeology Program Fellowships
University of Hawaii at Manoa
The Department of Anthropology, University of Hawaii at Manoa is pleased to announce that the Luce Asian Archaeology Program (LAAP) is now encouraging applications from qualified junior-level archaeological professionals from East and Southeast Asian countries for the 2009-2010 academic year. We will offer at least four full fellowships for LAAP beginning in July 2009, involving ten months of non-degree coursework at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (USA) followed by field training.

Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships
Advanced Multi-Country Research, Council of American Overseas Research Centers
Targeted Fields: Humanities. Life Sciences. Physical Sciences. Social Sciences. School of Public Affairs.
Open To: Students Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholars.
Citizenship: Open only to U.S. citizens.
Eligibility Requirements: Doctoral candidates who have completed all PhD requirements with the exception of the dissertation, and established postdoctoral scholars. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-cultural questions requiring research in two or more countries.
Stipend: Stipend of up to $9,000.
Deadline: 1/16/2009
Program Description: Approximately ten awards will be given to scholars who wish to carry out research on broad questions of multi-country significance. Tenure must be of at least 3 months duration.
