Earthquake felt in Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai - An earthquake measured at 5.7 on the Richter
scale was felt in Chiang Rai early Friday, the Chiang Rai
Meteorological Office reported.

The quake was centred at the border area of Laos, Burma and
China and happened at 2:05 am. It was located about 200
kilometres north of Chiang Rai or at 21.54.30 Latitude,
100.54.54 Longitude.

Somwang Rungtrakulchai, Chiang Saen district chief, said the
quake could be felt on upper floors of high buildings in the
province.
