Night of the Khmer Rouge: Genocide and Justice in Cambodia
January 16 - February 22, 2007

Night of the Khmer Rouge: Genocide and Justice in Cambodia
examines photographic documents from 'the killing fields' of
the Khmer Rouge and the infamous Tuol Sleng prison. The Rumble
Room features a series of films and documentaries, including
The Flute Player, Bophana: A Cambodian Tragedy, Samsara, and
S-21: The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine. The exhibition is
organized by Alexander Hinton and Jorge Daniel Veneciano in
partnership with the Documentation Center of Cambodia.


Exhibition reception and premiere screening: Wednesday, January 31
Screening and discussion of Behind the Walls of S-21: Oral
Histories from Tuol Sleng Prison (Doug Kass, producer-director
and Wynne Cougill, editor) with Alexander Hinton, 5 - 6 pm in
the Campus Center Multipurpose Room (second floor); Exhibition
reception, 6 - 8 pm in the Gallery

Symposium: Thursday, February 1
Featuring invited scholars and keynote speaker John Ciorciari,
2:30 - 5 pm in the Gallery

Gallery hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10 am - 5 pm and
Wednesday 12 - 7 pm
Paul Robeson Gallery events are free and open to the public.

Catalog available with essays by Youk Chhang, Meng-Try Ea,
Alexander Hinton, and Jorge Daniel Veneciano. Gallery tours
and art-making workshops are free and open to NJ high schools;
please contact the gallery for scheduling.
