Volunteer Country Specialists on Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos,
and Vietnam
Amnesty International

Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) needs country specialists
who, working from their homes in the US, will donate their
time and knowledge to the human rights movement in Cambodia,
Indonesia, Laos, and Vietnam.  AIUSA's network of Country
Specialists (called the Country Coordination or Cogroup
Program) serve as AIUSA's primary country-focused monitors and
experts, campaign on behalf of human rights activism, support
other AI activists, and coordinate efforts to execute an
action strategy to improve human rights.

Ideal candidates have a combination of country-regional
expertise, academic background in the region and language
abilities.  AI mandate precludes volunteers from working on
their own country (i.e., country of birth, citizenship or
naturalization).  Candidates should also have AI or other
human rights activist experience.  The time required for the
position is self-scjedi;ed amd averages 10 hours per week, and
members are asked to commit themselves for a minimum of two
years.  Although the position is unpaid, AI-related expenses
are compensated.

Currently we are looking for volunteers with expertise on
Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, and Vietnam.  While we have a
particular need to find experts for these regions/countries,
feel free to contact us if your expertise lies in some other
