FULBRIGHT STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM (INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL
EDUCATION)
Targeted Fields:Open to all fields.
Open To: BA graduates. Prospective/Current Graduate Students.
Students Working on Master's Thesis. Students Working on
Doctoral Dissertation.
Citizenship: Open only to U.S. citizens.
Eligibility Requirements: BA degree or, in the creative and
performing arts, 4 years of professional study and/or
experience. Must have proficiency in the language of the host
country. Law applicants may hold a JD. Preference is given to
candidates who have not resided or studied in the country to
which they are applying for more than six months. Enrolled
students must apply through their home institution.
Stipend: Stipends vary by country.
General deadline at IIE 10/19/2007 (Each university requires
an earlier deadline, check with your home institution. Most
Universities require applications to be submitted to the
campus review board no later than 9/12.
Program Description: Approximately 1,100 fellowships give
recent B.S./B.A. graduates, master's and doctoral candidates,
young professionals and artists opportunities for personal
development and international experience. Projects may include
university coursework, independent library or field research,
classes in a music conservatory or art school, special
projects in the social or life sciences, or a combination in
over 140 countries. Fellowship amounts vary depending on
country. Awards are for one academic year.
