TLC readers may be interested in today's radio show of
Democracy Now!,
which includes discussions with former Thai senator and
longtime AIDS
activist Jon Ungphakorn. The segment concerns the Thai
government's
declaration that they will use a compulsory license to provide
certain
medicines to the Thai populace. This has resulted in the
commercial
owners of the patent withdrawing other AIDS drugs from the
Thai market
in retaliation, and protests are ongoing regarding this situation.
