Evaluators needed for case studies: IDRC Strategic Evaluation
on Capacity 
Development.

The Evaluation Unit at the International Development Research
Centre (IDRC, 
http://www.idrc.ca/evaluation) in Ottawa is undertaking a
four-phase 
strategic evaluation on IDRC’s research capacity development
work with our 
partners. We are currently starting the fourth phase of the
strategic 
evaluation with case studies selected from IDRC’s partners. We
are looking 
for experienced evaluators for six research organization case
studies:

Case studies
·       Environment and Natural Resources Management, Cambodia
·       A Latin American non-government organization (NGO)
·       A Consultative Group on International Agricultural
Research (CGIAR)
·       An Anglophone African university
·       A Francophone African university
·       A global network on ICTs for development

Time Frame
-Mid-May:  evaluators will receive project documents to begin
the process 
of review.
-Second half of June: methodology meeting in Ottawa.
-Field work in July/August.
-End of August/early September: draft reports are due.
-End of September/October:  meeting with evaluators and other
stakeholders 
to look at and discuss the research findings.

Qualifications and Requirements
·       Experienced evaluator
·       Experience in evaluating organizations and programs
·       Sectoral knowledge in one or more of the case studies
·       Relevant language skills required for case studies in
Latin 
America, Francophone Africa and Cambodia.
·       Must be available for methodology meeting in Ottawa
