Dear Highlander,
You have met or exceeded your current OneDrive storage quota. You are
required to take action to clear up your storage to prevent the loss of
data that may be important to you. Please read the notice below for
complete details and guidance from Information Technology Solutions (ITS).
UCR has been impacted by new Office 365 storage quotas in response to the
storage changes imposed by Microsoft (read the announcement here
<https://its.ucr.edu/blog/2023/11/06/upcoming-changes-storage-email-and-calendar-services>).
Microsoft has limited all A1 Microsoft users to a maximum of 100GB of
OneDrive storage per user. You have met or exceeded this storage limit and
will no longer be able to sync or upload new files.
In light of this change, please review the data contained in your OneDrive
storage and delete any unnecessary files and/or folders. You can also move
data to your Google Drive to free up space in your OneDrive. However,
please be mindful that Google Drive will be enforcing quotas as previously
communicated in the upcoming weeks. You can upload files to your own Google
Drive or to a shared Google Drive (see instructions here
<https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2424368?hl=en&co>).
Alternatively, you may also request to purchase an A3 license through your
department to provide you with additional OneDrive storage (access request
form here)
The A3 license includes all of the A1 features, as well as desktop versions
of the Office applications, and more tools for security and management.
For your convenience, ITS has issued you a temporary license that removed
the storage quota enforcement to provide you with ample time to clean up
your OneDrive data. You have until June 30 to take action and clean up your
storage or take an alternative route such as purchasing an A3 Microsoft
license or moving your files to Google Drive. Please review your files at
your earliest availability. If no action is taken on your part, your access
to important files may be at risk.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you require technical
support or have any questions, please contact ITS at (951) 827-4848 or
email rmailservices at ucr.edu. <rmailservices at ucr.edu>
Sincerely,
