[Campus Notice] ServiceNow Will Undergo a Planned Upgrade from March 22 to 24, 2024

UCR Information Technology Solutions tech-bulletin at lists.ucr.edu
Fri Mar 8 16:18:51 PST 2024

Dear ITS Staff and Partners,

Please be advised of an upcoming upgrade to ServiceNow
<https://techalerts.ucr.edu/pages/maintenance/5967bcc208eee84e0e0028b6/65e8f9e099431c05891160ae>,
taking place on March 22, 2024 at 11:30 PM to March 24, 2024 at 5:00 PM
(PDT). During this period, ITS will be upgrading the application, which
will require a rolling interruption of the service. As such, please expect
service degradation during this time.
Code Freeze Schedule

In preparation for the ServiceNow upgrade, we will enforce a code freeze
from March 11 to 22, 2024. This is necessary to keep the data in sync
across our production and non-production environments for the duration of
the upgrade.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Period

We are improving this upgrade by engaging the assistance of a third-party
consultant. This means we will have a set schedule for user acceptance
testing (UAT) and if users find an issue after UAT, they can submit a
request as a production issue.

UAT will be available in the TEMP environment
<https://ucrtemp.service-now.com/now/nav/ui/classic/params/target/home.do>
from March 14 to 15, 2024. We will send a reminder email when the TEMP
environment is ready for testing.

To report issues related to the ServiceNow upgrade, please use this form
and select “Upgrade Related” as the type of request:
