[Shs-announcements] Welcoming New (and familiar) Faces to SHCC Family

March Showers (we are early on the West/Best Coast) bring April New Hires to the SHCC building!
We are happy to announce new additions to the team(s).

            Dr. Kiet Du                 Meagan Hsing             Daniel Lopez Salas     Jesus Gomez Manzo

Dr. Kiet Du should look quite familiar. Dr. Du was previously our Per Diem Pharmacist and has stepped into a full-time Sr. Staff pharmacist. The core focus of a Senior Staff Pharmacist will be on clinical responsibilities, encompassing medication dispensing, patient counseling, and overall patient care. Dr. Du will report to Pharmacy Manager, Dr. Sam Tran.


ASSET is excited to welcome Meagan Hsing as our new Business Operations Transactional Lead. She will work with the ASSET team to use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of financial practices, policies, and procedures in an educational enterprise, and subject matter expertise in all transactional areas of procurement, entertainment, and campus recharges. Meagan reports to ASSET Business Operations Leader, Nichole Sparks.





Daniel Lopez Salas should also be a familiar face. Daniel is The Well's new Student Health Promotion Specialist and will serve as a liaison between The Well and Student Health Services. This position was created as a result of the partnership between the two departments. As part of his role, Daniel will manage The Well's Lounge in the building and work with several team members to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion and education programs for SHS. Daniel's expertise includes substance use education, sexual health education, and bike and scooter injury prevention. He will also oversee The Well's peer health education group, Golden ARCHES, and Policy Intern, who will work with SHS in health education and promotion efforts. Daniel reports to The Well Director, Dr. Marmolejo, and work closely with Dr. Han and Michael King to coordinate efforts.



Similarly, we are happy to welcome Jesus Gomez Manzo The Well's new Mental Health Promotion Specialist. In this role, Jesus will play a leadership role in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and reporting on multifaceted, campus-wide mental health education and promotion efforts as part of The Well and the UCR's Health Well-being and Safety Organization. This includes large initiatives such as Mental Health Allies. In this role, Jesus will work closely with several HWS departments, including CAPS, Case Management, and SWIFT. He supervises the peer group Active Minds and The Well's Graduate Well-being Liaison. Jesus reports to The Well's Director, Dr. Marmolejo.
