<p style="margin: 0;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">We seek scholars who work at the intersection of media and MIT’s traditional strengths in science and technology, with a focus on their combined role in transforming society. Possible areas of specialization include climate and environmental justice; disinformation and media manipulation; and pluralism and democracy. CMS/W welcomes a diverse set of approaches including but not limited to: data literacy and storytelling, computing and social inequity, documentary practice, infrastructure and resource extraction, and global/transnational perspectives.</span></p>

In addition to scholars with a background in media studies, we welcome applicants from STS, anthropology, sociology, history, computational social science, area studies, digital humanities, and related fields. Applications from scholars with advanced degrees in science, engineering, or other technical fields are also invited to apply, so long as the social dimensions of science and technology are core to their work.</span></p>
