Greetings, everyone. There are numerous events and opportunities coming up
that will interest you, so I've prepared this announcement with information
about each of them.

On May 23 & 24, the Huntington Library in Pasadena is hosting Futurity as
Praxis: Learning from Octavia E. Butler

reflecting on the iconic and influential author whose papers are archived
at the Huntington. Register here

(free for all students) and if you're coming from Riverside, you may sign

On May 25, graduate students at UCR will hold a one-day symposium
revisiting and reinitiating the Eaton Conference on speculative fiction
research! Organizers welcome paper submissions from undergraduates and
graduate students

for Ideas & Society conference award to stage a new speculative fiction
research conference next Spring!

The Speculative Fiction Across Media Conference <https://sfamla.org/> in
Los Angeles will take place in October 2024. See the CFP and submit a
proposal by May 1. SFAM is located in Southern California and sponsored by
UC Riverside, Cal State LA, and the University of Zurich.

The annual (Theodore) Sturgeon Symposium
<https://sfcenter.ku.edu/sturgeon-symposium> at Kansas University's Gunn
Center for Science Fiction will take place in October 2024. The theme is
“Stars in Our Pockets: Celebrating Samuel R. Delany.” Submit a proposal here
