Dear Students,

I just wanted to provide a bit of context/update for the luncheon next
week. Christy Gray just circulated a form that allows you to sign up if you
are interested in attending.

The event is on April 6, which is also the day that the Department of
English will have an Open House for prospective grad students. There is
also an English lunch for those students at the same time, and current
graduate students in English can attend either one.

If you decide to attend the luncheon specifically for students in the sf
program, we'll be meeting over in the Rivera library and having lunch with
Phoenix Alexander, the new librarian dedicated to the collection.

This luncheon will be a time for all students currently here and working on
sf topics to get to know one another a bit and talk about our research, and
for Phoenix to get to know us and ways he can assist with research goals.

At 1:30 pm we'll be joined by the prospective students, and we'll all have
the opportunity to have a tour of the Eaton which will include some
opportunities for hands-on examination of some of its rarer items.

I hope to see you there,
Sherryl
