Dear students,

Ted Chiang will be visiting UCR on May 3. I'll arrange a casual luncheon in
the library for anyone who wants to meet with him informally and then he
will give a talk from 1-2:30 pm. I don't know the room yet but I'll make
and circulate a poster as soon as I do. I'm just writing now to give people
maximum time to mark your calendars (if you are interested).

best,
Sherryl

**responsibility
to the original and current caretakers of this land, water, **and air: the
Cahuilla, Tongva, Luiseño, and Serrano peoples and all of **their ancestors
and descendants, past, present, and future. Today this **meeting place is
home to many Indigenous peoples from all over the world, **including UCR
faculty, students, and staff, and we are grateful to have the **opportunity
to live and work on these homelands."*
