Our Science Fiction TV Dinner series is going virtual for 2020-2021, to help keep our community safe during the pandemic. We’re shifting the format slightly, presenting Science Fiction TV Small Bites: short films from talented creators that invite us to explore a range of possible futures.<br>
<br>
Our first Small Bite is <em>A Love Letter to the Ancestors from Chicago</em>, an Afrofuturist dance film produced and directed by <a href="https://asu.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=757c526637e99d9638b85e354&id=6526807dec&e=43ffb2457d" style="color:#7324ea;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline" target="_blank">Ytasha Womack</a>. We’ll screen the 14-minute film, and then have a conversation with Ytasha, who is also the author of the book <em>Afrofuturism: The World of Black Sci Fi and Fantasy Culture</em>, a dancer, and a novelist, and <a href="https://asu.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=757c526637e99d9638b85e354&id=b56bbb3287&e=43ffb2457d" style="color:#7324ea;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline" target="_blank">Grisha Coleman</a>, an associate professor in ASU’s School of Arts, Media + Engineering and a time-based artist who works in performance and experimental media.<br>

We'll also feature an exclusive segment on cuisine and cooking by <a href="https://asu.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=757c526637e99d9638b85e354&id=fc673c4fcd&e=43ffb2457d" style="color:#7324ea;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline" target="_blank">Corey S. Pressman</a>, an author, educator, anthropologist, artist, and member of CSI’s Imaginary College.<br>
