Dear all,
I'm writing with a presentation opportunity for an interested faculty
member or graduate student.
The Rare Books LA book fair, located at Union Station on October 3-4, 2026,
will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Anne Rice’s *Interview
with a Vampire*.
The organizers are seeking someone from academia who could speak in a very
pop culture way about the legacy of vampires in literature, Anne Rice’s
role, and what appears to be a worldwide obsession with Romantasy, arguably
born from (or at least sharing DNA with!) this genre.
The speaker should give a 30-40 minute talk, followed by questions, so no
longer than one hour total for the event.
The organizers express regret at not being able to pay speakers, but they
do publicize them, and pay for their parking and lunch. They will also
provide free book fair admission for them and a guest.
If anyone is interested, let me know, and I can connect you!
Warmly,
Phoenix
