Dear all,
I hope you're all staying safe and taking care of yourselves; January has
been a long month.
Hopefully this email will bring something joyful to your inboxes - starting
with some new arrivals at the Eaton!
- *Metropolis*, Thea von Harbou (1927). A first edition of the iconic SF
novel - including the beautiful illustrated dust jacket, in wonderful
condition
- *The Rocky Horror Picture Show Archive* (1975), including lobby cards and
photographs
- arriving in the next month or two, I'm delighted to announce the
acquisition of the *Bruce Boston archive!* Bruce was a prolific poet and
fiction writer, and the recipient of the first Grand Master Award presented
by the Science Fiction Poetry Association in 1999

In other news, our wonderful Communications Specialist, Sean Wright, has
separated out each panel and uploaded the entire 2026 Eaton Symposium onto
the UCR Library YouTube channel
<https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaDWxNwvAu5ZxQJVWdaXiNP2o1AIqt9vC>!
If you missed any of our amazing presenters, or just want to revisit the
conversations, please do check it out. Huge thanks to Sean for putting that
up so quickly,
Finally, on *February 17th 5.30-7pm*, we'll be hosting UCR Distinguished
Professor and Pulitzer finalist* Laila Lalami, who will discuss her newest
novel, The Dream Hotel*. Please spread the word, and sign up via our
Eventbrite page
