Dear all,

What a year January's been! Happy New Year, and all that.

I've been on vacation this month, so this update is brief, BUT there are some exciting things to report!

Starting with acquisitions:

  *
Robert Markovich, 25 Photographs from the Babylon 5 Film Set Series Taken Between 1998 and 2002. A really stellar mini-archive of production photographs, of interest to anyone working on SF film and television. More on this when it arrives!

  *
We're also in the process of acquiring titles from the Ignyte, Mythopoeic, and Bram Stoker awards, to ensure that the Eaton Collection is up to date with SF/F's contemporary stars.

If you couldn't make the Eaton Symposium on January 8th, fear not: videos of all of the panels can be viewed on UCR Library's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaDWxNwvAu5aPByi_FZfhXsicSwPV_W7d

Do mark your calendars for the in-person Eaton Conference, too, taking place April 4th-5th.

That's all for now! Take care, and sending you all nothing but the best energy.

Warmth and light,

Phoenix

Recommended book of the month: Margaret Killjoy, We Won't Be Here Tomorrow: and Other Stories (2022) (not as depressing as the title would have you believe, I promise!)

We at UCR would like to respectfully acknowledge and recognize our responsibility to the original and current caretakers of this land, water, and air: the Cahuilla, Tongva, Luiseño, and Serrano peoples and all of their ancestors and descendants, past, present, and future. Today this meeting place is home to many Indigenous peoples from all over the world, including UCR faculty, students, and staff, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on these homelands.
