Hi all,

Got this in recently and spoke with Mr. Crawford on the phone; it duplicates a lot of what we have but may be of interest to other building collections. He's moving to Shanghai in about a month so it would be worthwhile to contact him asap.

Hope this is useful to someone!

Subject: Donating Science Fiction Collection

Ms. Hutchison:

I would like to discuss with you the possibility of donating my collection of science fiction books and magazines to your collection. I have approximately 10 boxes (2 cubic feet) of material. Much of it spans from the 50's through the 70's and includes ACE doubles etc.

I am moving to Shanghai on a long term work assignment and rather than keeping them in storage I would prefer that they find a home in a collection. I do not have the time to sell them on the ebay and I am sure that they would bring me little if I took them to Half Price Books. I know that there is little market for science fiction magazines (F&SF, Analog, IF, Galaxy etc) and I would like to think that they could be housed in a setting where others who appreciate science fiction could enjoy them. It is difficult to jettison my boyhood but I fear deterioration if placed in long term storage.

Please call me at my office 713-235-3190 if you wish to discuss.

Regards,
Gary Crawford
