Photographer Noé Montes will talk in the Riverside Art Museum galleries
about his work on view, which documents regional histories of environmental
justice, with a focus on how communities have organized and led social
movement building, multi-generationally. We’ll get on the bus to talk about
and visit sites of beauty (Santa Ana River Trailhead; community gardens;
Garcia Center for the Arts, etc.); toxicity (San Bernardino sites of heavy
pollution); and justice, narrated by community members who have advocated
and sometimes litigated for their rights to clean air, energy, and
water. Starts
and ends in downtown Riverside. We'll begin as any morning gathering ought
to: over coffee and pastries. Food, snacks, and good company provided. Link
