[Sehefac] Latinx & Environment seminar and SEHE Open House

Hello SEHE friends,
Congratulations on launching the Fall quarter. What a year it is, already.
I'm writing to ask your help to spread the word about two upcoming events:

The *Latinx & the Environment seminar *is back this year! The seminar
showcases research and community organizers who work on environmental
issues that impact Latinx communities. 1-2 units course credit are
available to students who sign up by week 2 and who attend the seminar
regularly. The seminar meets *Thursdays, 4:30-6pm in SSC (Student Success
Center) 116 starting this week, 10/2!*.
Food and drink will be served.

The *SEHE Department Open House* is happening on *Wednesday 10/15,
12:30-1:30pm in INTS 1113*. This event will share updates on new courses in
Winter, and will feature many opportunities for students to become involved
in research and community engagement on sustainability and health. Speakers
will share opportunities with the R'Garden, Kaiser Permanente Health
Scholars program, the UCR Masters of Public Health, Pre-Professions
Advising, Healthy Campus, and the Center for Undergraduate Research.
Students in any major or college are welcome, and we'll have food and
drinks.

Finally, for SEHE faculty and affiliates:
If you have some time at *lunch tomorrow (10/1)*, stop by the *SEHE major
welcome event (12:30-2:30pm in INTS 1113)*. This is a welcome lunch for
SEHE majors and faculty to meet each other, and we'd love for you to join
us if you are able.
And, we're planning a *SEHE Social Hour on Wednesday 10/15 4:30-6pm at the
Barn*, for SEHE faculty, affiliates and instructors. Come by and say hello!

I'll attach flyers for both of the public events (L&E and Open House) here.
I'd be super grateful if you could share them with your students, and maybe
offer some extra credit.
