Hi everyone,

I wanted to invite you to two events. This Thursday, the Riverside Art
Museum will be hosting an opening reception of the exhibition "Regional
History" featuring photo-documentary works by Noé Montes. The exhibit draws
upon three projects he developed in collaboration with community members in
Central and Inland Southern California: "Imperial Air," "Coachella Farm
Workers," and "Cuyama." From 5-6pm is an invited guests opening that you
need to RSVP <https://ramcheech.ticketapp.org/portal/product/259> for; from
6 to 9pm it is free and open to all, as part of Downtown Art Walk. (I
curated it, and it is open through spring so perhaps you can assign it as
extra credit!) The other exhibit that is opening is "60 Miles East" on the
Riverside punk and ska scene, so it should be fun.

I also invite you on a tour on Sat., Nov. 15, 10am-2:30, of environmental
justice sites that PC4EJ is leading with A People's History of the I.E. and
U of Redlands Geography/EJ. We will meet at the Riverside Art Museum at
10am for continental breakfast and to visit the exhibition "Regional
History" with photographer Noé Montes, where we will also hear about
Riverside organizing efforts. Then we will get on the bus, to go to sites
in San Bernardino. While we are on the bus we'll hear from community
members and organizers. We make a few stops, have a box lunch and snacks,
and talk. We'll return to the Riverside Art Museum by 2:30.

The amount of time is definitely a commitment!

Seats for the tour are limited and we are trying to target students and
interested faculty in SEHE and in the co-producing University of Redlands
classes. If you have students who you know will be interested, especially
in upper-div classes will you please share this with them?
