Dear SEHE affiliates,
We'd be so grateful to you for sharing these upcoming events with your
students. We'd love to see you at the L&E seminar, the Post-inauguration
meetup or the SEHE Winter Open House. Wishing you well this week. I'm
grateful for your company and collaboration; together we'll get through
this.

At the *Latinxs & the Environment seminar TODAY (1/22, 3:30-5pm in INTN
3023)*, Environmental Sciences PhD student Alyssa Valdez will share her
research on methane emissions on CA dairy farms. This might seem like an
obscure or specialized topic, but the effects of methane emissions on
global warming are huge. In addition, dairy farm emissions impact local
communities across California's Central Valley. Alyssa is a dynamic speaker
and has lots of ideas for citizen science approaches to greenhouse has
emissions.

You are all warmly invited to a *SEHE Post-inauguration meetup this Friday,
1/24, from 12-1pm *on zoom (zoom link here
<https://ucr.zoom.us/j/91855692441?pwd=C1lUdab1dBwK8SnAF8UWjJrC08aRI9.1>).
We will share concerns, questions and resources arising from the
inauguration of a new presidential administration.

Finally, please join the *SEHE Winter Open House next Wed, 1/29 at
12:30-1:30pm in INTN 3023. *Come join us to learn more about the new majors
in Environmental Studies and Global and Community Health and hear from
staff and faculty about summer fellowship, internship, and research
opportunities available to all UCR undergraduates. A free lunch will be
served for the first 25 people attending.

With all my best,
Dana
