Hello SEHE friends,
I apologize for so many announcements (I guess it's Earth Day....)
I really hope that you are able to attend the *Provost and Deans
Sustainability Town Hall*
<https://events.ucr.edu/event/deans-panel-on-sustainability-by-the-provost-vice-chancellor>
on Tuesday 4/22, 10:30am-12pm in the School of Business Multipurpose Room.
Last year's was very sparsely attended, and especially this year, I feel
like our leadership needs to see people insisting that they stay the course.
I also wanted to share this talk tomorrow with you and your students, with
many thanks to Juliann for organizing this event:
*Climate Justice at COP29: Key Takeaways & What’s Next for COP 30*
Monday 4/21, 9:30-10:50am
Student Success Center Room 308
Join us for an insightful discussion on the biggest climate justice issues
shaping recent UN climate negotiations. We’ll break down key debates from
COP29—like the fight to keep 1.5°C alive, the state of global climate
finance, and the challenges civil society faces in having a voice. Looking
ahead to COP30 in Belém, Brazil, we’ll explore how shifting global
politics, including the recent U.S. departure from the Paris Agreement,
could shape the next round of talks. Don’t miss this chance to stay
informed and engaged!
Speaker: Shannon Gibson, PhD - (she/her)
Assisting Speaker 1: Emerson Damiano (she/her)
Assisting Speaker 2: Sariah Perera (she/her)

Finally, here is an awesome flyer for the *EJ Zine Kickoff Workshop* on
Wednesday (1-2:30pm in INTN 3023), organized by SEHE Student Ambassador
Angel Teo. Please consider stopping by, no art experience required!

Take care,
