November 19th Waterkeepers event!

Waterkeepers: Environmental Justice, Native Perspective, and Collaborative
Filmmaking. Professor Laurel C. Smith, who joins us from the University of
Oklahoma, has worked with Indigenous media makers to coproduce short films,
including Loren Waters' award-winning documentaries. Please join Professor
Laurel C. Smith for a talk on the ethics, challenges, and affordances of
collaborative filmmaking.

Also screening Loren Waters' documentaries that same evening. Loren Kasey
Waters is an award-winning Cherokee and Kiowa filmmaker who has worked on
film and television shows such as *Reservation Dogs*, *Fancy Dance*,
and *Killers
of the Flower Moon*. The screening will be followed by a conversation with
Loren Waters and Laurel C. Smith on environmental justice from Native
perspectives.
