Dear SEHE affiliates,
A question came up about resources for students suffering from anxiety, or
any number of other emotions and trauma reactions, in response to the
election results.
Do you all have ideas? Here are my thoughts:
Student Counseling, https://counseling.ucr.edu/ comes to mind.
Election-related issues might be a good centerpoint for the CAPS group
therapy series: https://counseling.ucr.edu/group-therapy, including a
first-gen support group, a coping skills group, and an anxiety
management group.
For support of more specific needs, the UCR Undocumented Student Programs
office (https://usp.ucr.edu/) is a good resource, as is CARE (
https://care.ucr.edu/).
I'll keep thinking. If you feel comfortable sharing, let me know if you
hear students mention specific needs that we can try to address.
With thanks for this community,
Dana
