Dear Friends and colleagues,

The Center for Planetary Health is running a second year of the
Interdisciplinary Program for Planetary Health (IPPH) program in
collaboration with UCR California Medicine Scholars Program (CMSP) research
opportunity program by placing community college students interested in
medicine into environmental research labs. The objective is to provide
students interested in clinical work some hands-on experience with
environmental research.

We have 6 students who have expressed interest in participating in the
program this year. I'm writing to see if you'd be interested in hosting one
of them during the summer for 8 weeks. A stipend would be provided to
the *GSR(s)
who would be mentoring the student for a total of $1500.*  A few details
are provided below.

If you could let me know if you may be interested by *May 30th (sorry for
the tight timeline!)* and I can forward the student profiles for your
review. Please remember, they are community college students, so they will
have relatively minimal research experience, but are extremely eager to
gain research experience!

*Dates:* June 24, 2024 - August 16, 2024

*CMSP fellow's time Commitment to research in your lab: *Minimum of 20
hours a week, maximum of 40 hours

*Required Workshops CMSP fellow will attend:*     FPL Leadership Lecture
Series

Thursday’s from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

June 6th, June 13th, June 20th, June 27th, July 11th, and July 18th
