Dear Educators,
PODER invites you to join us on a long week workshop series starting
February 26, 2024, through March 1, 2024. We also invite you to encourage
your students to attend our workshops. We were wondering if it would be
possible to offer this opportunity to attend our workshops for extra
credit. Please share our flyers with your students and fellow educators you
believe would be interested.
ABOUT IAW
During week 8 we will have a week-long workshop series aimed to educate the
UCR community about immigrant and undocumented refugees. These workshops
consist of how to become an ally, educating participants on current and
past issues within the undocumented community, and so on. On Wednesday
2/28, we will have our Coming Out of The Shadows event where students get
the chance to share their experiences in front of the bell tower on what it
means to be an undocumented person.
ABOUT PODER
Providing Opportunities, Dreams, and Education in Riverside (PODER) is a
student organization at the University of California, Riverside that seeks
to assist undocumented students through mentorship, financial aid, and
community building.
Thank you for taking the time to read our email. For inquiries concerning
the Immigration Awareness Week Conference, please contact us at
