[Sehefac] SEHE social hour February 22 4:30-6pm at the Stable

Dear SEHE friends,
We are gearing up for the Academic Senate vote on *February 27 (1-3pm via
zoom)*!!
Please mark your calendars and vote in support of our undergraduate degree
program proposals (Environmental Studies BA/ minor and Global and Community
Health BA/ minor). We know that there most likely will be some objections
to these proposals, despite the 77% positive Senate vote in favor of our
department last Winter. Every vote counts!
If you are willing to speak at the Senate Divisional meeting in favor of
our proposals, please let me know. We'd be incredibly grateful. We can
share talking points: we have gathered feedback from a number of
Environmental Studies chairs

the US about how Environmental Studies is a legible, established (50
year-old) field, distinct from the Environmental Science programs at their
institutions.

To celebrate how far we've come, and huddle, we'd like to invite you to
join us for a *drink and a snack at the Stable on Thursday, February 22
from 4:30-6pm*.

Here's an incentive to join us: the stickers have arrived! You voted, and
Norm the Orange won. (I swear that I didn't pack the vote, though I was
very tempted, in favor of this one.) They look amazing and would brighten
any water bottle or laptop cover. Congratulations to SEHE Butterfly intern
Evelyn Cruz Jimenez, who created this design!
