Dear SEHE faculty,

I am writing to invite you to attend the UC Riverside Inland Empire Labor
and Community Center’s (IELCC's) “End Of The Year Celebration" on *Th, 8/15
at 6-8pm at** the UDW Union Hall at 1445 Spruce Street, Riverside, CA
92507. *Dinner will be served and friends and families are welcome to
attend.

Much of what we will be celebrating relate directly to environmental
justice and health equity. First, we are celebrating the work of the
keynote speaker this year, who is Andrea Viduarre, co-founder and Policy
Analyst and Advocate of the People's Collective for Environmental Justice,
UCR alumnus, and winner of the 2024 Goldman Environmental Prize!

Second, we will celebrate the achievements of UCR's 2024 Labor Summer
fellows, many of whom were placed with environmental justice organizations,
health care workers' unions, and other labor organizations that have fought
for and won improved workplace health and safety for workers in our region.

In addition, this event is also a great opportunity to meet and get to know
the new IELCC Executive Director (Cheylynda Barnard), the new Policy &
Strategy Director (Chuy Flores), and new Research Director (Dr. David
Mickey-Pabello) and to do so at the union hall for home health care (IHSS)
workers in Riverside County.  For all of these reasons, I hope that you can
join us!
