Dear students,

The Inland Empire Labor and Community Center (IELCC) has two opportunities
for undergraduate students: Both our Labor Summer
<http://ielcc.ucr.edu/labor-summer> program and Bill Perez Scholarship
<https://ielcc.ucr.edu/bill-perez-scholarship> are currently accepting
applications. Please see the information below to pass along to your
undergraduate students who you are either teaching or advising.
Additionally, if you are teaching a course this quarter, it is possible our
team will be reaching out for a classroom announcement. Please keep an eye
out for that email. Both of these opportunities have application deadlines
set for April 8, which is the Monday of week 2 of spring quarter.

Labor Summer:

UCR’s Labor Summer program is a part of the UC Labor Summer program that
was launched last year. UCR undergraduate student participants are matched
with host organizations primarily based in the Inland Empire for an 8-week,
full-time internship in which students work on projects that sit at the
intersection of social justice and labor issues. UCR undergraduates who
participate in Labor Summer will be awarded $6,400 fellowships in
recognition of their participation, which amounts to ~$20/hr. Any UCR
undergraduate, including those graduating in Spring 2024, is eligible to
apply. Please refer to our website for more details:

Bill Perez Labor Scholarship

UCR’s Inland Empire Labor and Community Center (IELCC) is proud to partner
with the Inland Empire Labor Council to launch the Bill Perez Labor
Scholarship. The scholarship is open to any CHASS undergraduate and/or any
undergraduate with a Labor Studies Minor. All potential applicants must
have a minimum 2.5 GPA. For more information about the scholarship,
including information about its namesake, please visit our website:
