Subject: Recruiting PhD students for projects on the equitable energy
transition
To: ELEVATE Program <elevate at umass.edu>
* Dear colleagues, We would appreciate you sharing this email with any
students who might be interested. We are recruiting 5-8 PhD students for
our NSF funded projects on sustainable energy, energy equity, and climate
change resilience. Our students collaborate with each other and community
and industry leaders to find energy solutions with local to global-scale
impacts. Our program is transdisciplinary, and we are recruiting students
interested in tackling the challenges of the energy transition within any
of the following fields: anthropology, engineering, economics, computer
science, economics, environmental conservation, geosciences, and political
science. Our group is particularly interested in applicants with a lived
experience of injustice, and climate change (particularly BIPOC, LGBTQIA+,
women, first gen, folks with disabilities). Join our diverse and
interdisciplinary team, and get your PhD in a collaborative, fun, and
supportive environment! See our attached flier for more details. What we
offer - 1-2 years of fellowship funding through ELEVATE and up to 3
additional years of fellowship funding through UMass. - Yearly travel
funding for conferences and workshops. - Health insurance and tuition and
fee waivers. - Training in leadership and public engagement. - Connections
to jobs in academia, government, non-profits, and the private sector. -
Application fee waivers available. Learn
