Hey Highlanders,

Here are some upcoming opportunities and events. We’d love for you to join
us at the 2026 UCR Staff Conference and help spread the word—our UC peers
are more than welcome to attend!

2026-27’ Staff Assembly Executive Board Nominations Now Open (3/16 - 3/27)

Now is your chance to nominate someone or even self-nominate for a position
on the 26-27 Staff Assembly Executive Board!

Joining the executive board is a rewarding opportunity, with one-year
appointments for most positions. The exception is the vice
president/president-elect, who will automatically transition to president
for the 2027-28 year and serve as Immediate Past President in 2028-29. If
you're currently serving and wish to continue, you'll need to run again.
Co-Director applications are welcome for all Director Positions, allowing
candidates to collaborate and share their vision in one submission.

The positions open for nomination include:

- Vice President/President Elect (Must be a non-represented employee)

- Director of Events

- Director of Communications

- Director of Fundraising

- Director of Outreach

- Director of Involvement and Recognition

- Director of Professional Development

- Treasurer

- Secretary (Director of Administration)

2026 UCR Staff Conference (3/24 & 3/25)

Registration is now open for our 2026 UCR Staff Conference, "Together, We
Rise" <https://staffassembly.ucr.edu/2026-staff-conference>, on Tuesday and
Wednesday, March 24 and 25.

School of Education Staff Info Session (3/25)

The School of Education Staff Info Session invites staff members to learn
more about our graduate programs and opportunities for professional
advancement in the field of education. Attendees will receive an overview
of program options, the admissions process, available student support, and
the staff tuition discount, and will also be eligible for a $40 application
fee waiver for attending.

Call for Designs: Build-A-Scotty T-Shirt Contest (3/27)

As part of our upcoming Thank Goodness for Staff Week, UCR Staff Assembly
is excited to host a T-Shirt Design Contest for our annual Build-A-Scotty
event! We invite staff to showcase their talent and love of UCR staff by
submitting original artwork for this year’s commemorative t-shirt.

Designs may be full color and must fit within a 3” high x 4” wide imprint
area. Artwork must be submitted at 300 dpi (minimum 900 x 1200 pixels). All
designs should include the official UCR logo and the UCR Staff Assembly
name. Entries should be submitted as a .PDF or .PNG attachment and emailed
to Cierra Covarrubias at cierrac at ucr.edu. Submissions are due by Friday,
March 27th.

The winning design will be selected by the UCR Staff Assembly Board and
featured on the official Build-A-Scotty t-shirt during Thank Goodness for
Staff Week in April 2026.

*Please note that the original artwork may be modified to include a
sponsor’s name, if applicable*

UCR Night at the Angels Game (4/7)
