Letter from the Staff Assembly President

UCR is fortunate to have such a dedicated and loyal team of staff that are the engines behind the enterprise that keep it humming at the optimum level. So, it’s only fitting that we start off this new academic year with a round of applause and gratitude to celebrate you. THANK YOU to all of our staff for your various insights, talents and passions that you bring each day to help further the University’s mission. A special note of recognition and gratitude should also go to Jackie Rodriguez in the ASSET team — part of the Chancellor and Provost’s offices — who worked meticulously with me this past year in our effort to double the Staff Assembly’s budget. We are thankful for your partnership!

2022-23 Budget includes significant support for UCR Staff

With support from the Office of the Chancellor and Provost Elizabeth Watkins who chairs the Campus Finance Committee<https://provost.ucr.edu/campus-finance-committee>, we are happy to report that Staff Assembly’s annual budget has been doubled to $25,000/year, with additional financial support for the 2023 UCR Staff Conference (up to $25,000) and future Staff Pantry ”pop-up” events returning in October 2022. We are grateful to our many campus partners who continue to advocate on behalf of all UCR staff!

Community Partner Fair will return in-person on September 14

The annual Community Partner Fair (CPF) invites companies and organizations to the UCR campus to demonstrate their products and services to the staff, faculty and students of UCR. It's a great opportunity for organizations to connect with individuals in over 200 UCR departments who purchase more than $60 million annually in products and services. This year’s event will be held outdoors under the Rivera Library arches. Register before July 20 to save $50!
