Dear Colleagues,
We have a few spaces left for the *Quebrando Barreras / Breaking Barriers
in STEM: Tenure Track Positions* mini conference at UCLA on Saturday, April
18, 2026.
This event is sponsored by the Latina Futures 2050 Lab, spearheaded by the
UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center.
Goals of the gathering:
1.
Identify key barriers related to gender, race, class, and other forms of
inequality in STEM academic fields, and share actionable strategies to
address them.
2. Strengthen networks among STEM scholars committed to mutual support,
mentorship, and advancing excellence within academia.
3.
Advance conversations and strategies for systemic change in STEM
academia to ensure that all qualified scholars have the opportunity to
succeed and thrive.
We have an exciting line-up of senior scholars who are going to address the
experiences of women of color in STEM tenure track positions, and who will
also speak to the current job market for postdoctoral scholars.
Please feel free to forward the registration link to others who may be
interested. https://forms.gle/rSKvwY83hDyiayo97
