Featured speaker: Homero E. del Pino, PhD, MS
Discussion of Responsible Conduct of Research will include research misconduct, research ethics, and scientists as responsible members of society.
Homero E. del Pino, PhD, MS is Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  He is also  Research Health Scientist, Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
 
4:15-4:15 PM Alumni Panel Discussion
Featured speakers: Mirella Diaz-Santos, PhD and Carlos Oronce, MD
Faculty Moderator: Ron Hays, PhD
Discussion will be on experiences in the program, specifically 1) obtaining data, 2) analysis process, 3) writing up results, and 4) your route to publication. Panelists will also talk about what worked for them and what to watch out for.  Please bring your perspectives, questions, and issues to brainstorm with the group for a lively discussion.
Mirella Diaz-Santos, PhD (CHIME 2019-20) is Assistant Professor In-Residence in the Department of Neurology with a dual appointment with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine; Director, Equity for Latin/Hispanic Healthy Aging (ELHA) Lab. 
Carlos Oronce, MD (CHIME 2021-22) is Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCLA and Near Pear Mentor for the Research Education Core of RCMAR CHIME.
Ron Hays, PhD is Professor of Medicine at UCLA and Co-Director of the RCMAR CHIME Analysis Core.
