[RPA-PostDoc] Postdoc appreciation week activities

Hello everyone!

This is a reminder about the Postdoc Appreciation Week this week! Below you
will find some activities that might interest you.

1. Lunch and learn with immigration law office TODAY, *Monday, September
18th* from 12:30-2 pm with lunch served in HUB 367. Hosted by the
Immigration law offices of Hadley Bajramovic (more information is
attached). The officers will provide information on immigration options and
the process to obtain a green card.

2. Mentorship training workshop with the Graduate Student Mentorship
Program (GSMP) TODAY, *Monday, September 18th, starting at 10:15 am at
Genomics Auditorium. *The different sessions are open to the postdoc
community! If you are interested in learning mentorship skills, you are
welcome to come and go for the sessions. Lunch *will not* be provided as it
is only for the students and their mentors.

3. *Professional Development Seminar*. *Wednesday, 20th September, 2023 at
1 pm on Zoom.*

that we will open a Q&A session! You are invited to ask about career paths,
the job market, and professional development.

4. There is another opportunity for the postdoc community to engage with
graduate students as part of their *speed mentoring* event on *Wednesday,
September 27th from 3-5 pm. *This would be a meet-and-greet event between
graduate students and postdocs. However, since it's part of the speed
mentoring event, it is not completely guaranteed that postdocs will be
engaging with students for the whole two hours. The students can select
different topic areas they want to hear about and move from room to room
every 15 minutes. Interested postdocs in the speed mentoring event should
contact Monique Posadas, monique.posadas at ucr.edu.
