I would be grateful if you could spread the following (or an alternative)
message to UCR staff and students.


On February 5th, Turkey was hit by two powerful earthquakes (7.8 and 7.5)
and dozens of strong aftershocks. At least 7000 people have died so far.
Cities in the center of the disaster are completely devastated, with no
access to food, electricity, or medical services (Guardian

Roughly 10 million people live in the affected area. The rescue teams are
struggling to reach some neighborhoods because of the destruction and the
weather. Rescue is a race against time, and the death toll will continue to
rise with every passing minute. In addition to the rescue efforts, millions
will need tents and food to survive the rest of the winter. Please consider
