FYI, A UC-wide GCP discount is now available. One benefit is this contract doesn't appear to require a single-payer like the AWS EDP.

I'll share any additional details from the next Cloud Program meeting.

SYSTEMWIDE AGREEMENT NEWS

WHAT:  New UC-wide Google Cloud Platform Agreement Discount

OVERVIEW

We’re pleased to announce the new discounts available under the UC-wide Google Cloud Platform (GCP) agreement (2019.001086). These discounts are the result of the ongoing successful partnership between the UC IT community and UC Procurement.

Named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant, GCP is Google’s suite of over 135 different cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions that run on the same infrastructure that Google uses internally for its end-user products.

BENEFITS TO UC

As a result of UC locations working together, the following benefits were achieved:

·        Discounts on GCP cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) products as follows:

  *   16% discount on GCP Compute SKUs
  *   19% discount on GCP Storage SKUs
  *   18% discount on GCP On Demand SUD VMs
  *   8% discount on other GCP products

·        Additional 100% discount on GCP data egress fees (up to 15% of total fees)

·        5-year discount term (through 10/14/26)

·        At least $560,000 in aggregate financial benefit over the discount term

·        Available to all UC locations

·        Agreement terms aligned with UC’s needs and compliant with policy and the law, including UC Terms & Conditions of Purchase and UC Appendix-Data Security.

HOW DO I GET THESE DISCOUNTS?

To receive these discounts, your GCP account must be linked to the UC-wide GCP agreement. If your GCP account is already linked, then no further action is needed, the additional discounts will be automatically applied.

If your GCP account isn’t already linked to the UC-wide GCP agreement and you would like to begin receiving these discounts, then please contact UC’s GCP representative:
