Hi Chuck,
School of Business is just in the process of setting up a new system research supporting P3 data. We're planning to use cloud storage (Google Drive) because that's what the ISO told us was supported.

Subject: [RITL] Secure Research Storage
Hello RITL,
We are engaged with Tran Phan from EH&S regarding a new BSL3 Lab located in SOMR.
They want to store and share with their lab data related to BSL3 "Select Agents". We are thinking of using a ITS managed desktop and secure google drive for this activity.
According to the official guidelines this seems to be appropriate. There will be an official review of the plan in early Nov.
I would like to understand what others are doing with secure data, how are you hosting P3-P4 data? What are the options you are providing?
Do you host it Onsite?
How? Why?
Do you host in the Cloud?
What Cloud? Why?
BTW Here is a link to a document created by the UC Research IT Committee last year showing secure storage and compute options for the UC Campuses.
