ASCENDR Research Program
ASCENDR is a program designed to help early- and mid-career faculty at
Hispanic Serving Research Universities (HSRU) to conduct defense-related
science and technology research. Supported by the Department of War, it
provides up to $200,000 for one-year projects focused on critical areas
like Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI), Biomanufacturing (BIO),
Contested Logistics Technologies (LOG), Quantum and Battlefield Information
Dominance (Q-BID), Scaled Directed Energy (SCADE), and Scaled Hypersonics
(SHY).

Hispanic-Serving Institutions Education Grants Program
(USDA-NIFA-HSI-011903)
The HSI Education Grants Program gives colleges $25,000 to $1,200,000 to
encourage innovative teaching, research, and community projects. Schools
can submit up to five applications, but an institution can only win up to
three awards.

Development of Collaborative Research Facilities or Research-Resource
Facilities (PAR-26-106)
This NOFO funds the construction or modernization of shared-use,
collaborative research facilities through the Biomedical Research
Facilities (BRF) and HIV/AIDS Research Facilities (HRF) programs. Projects
require a minimum budget of $2,000,000, with maximums of $8,000,000 for BRF
and $4,000,000 for HRF, spanning a single five-year award period.

NSF Major Research Instrumentation FY 2027 - Tentative Posting
The Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program helps schools and research
labs buy or build expensive scientific equipment up to $4 million. Because
the National Science Foundation will soon release a updated grant
opportunity with a tight deadline, UCR RED is hosting an internal
competition due on October 7th. Applicants can request funds under Track 1
(up to $1.4M), Track 2 (up to $4M), or Track 3 (for helium conservation
equipment).

St. Baldrick's Foundation Research Grant
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a donor-funded charity dedicated to curing
childhood cancer and improving survivors' lives. They offer two-year grants
of up to $100,000 per year for focused research projects. Key funding
priorities include discovering new treatments, running clinical trials,
supporting patient quality of life, and training new researchers. Extra
funding applications are accepted specifically for hard-to-treat conditions
like brain tumors, Burkitt lymphoma, and extrarenal rhabdoid tumors.

This grant opportunity funds universities and research centers to help turn
medical discoveries into real-world health products. Selected organizations
will create regional hubs that give researchers funding, business training,
expert guidance, and resources to develop prototypes and test early ideas.
To qualify, applicant institutions must have previously partnered with a
small business on an NIH STTR award. The NIH plans to grant up to five $1
million per year awards over four years.

up to $110,000 per year for three years, with a possible two-year extension
for good progress. Funding supports new discovery, clinical trials, and
researcher training across areas like young adult care, survivorship,
epidemiology, and precision medicine.
