<p class="xmsonormal">On Monday, August 15, 2022, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced new controls on four technologies they have determined meet the criteria of Section 1758 of the Export Control Reform Act (ECRA),
pertaining to emerging and foundational technologies. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="xmsonormal">Among the technologies called out are 1) “two substrates of ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors (Gallium Oxide (Ga<sub>2</sub> O<sub>3</sub>) and diamond)” and 2) “Electronic Computer Aided Design (ECAD) software specially designed for the
development of integrated circuits with any Gate-All-Around Field-Effect Transistor (GAAFET) structure.”<o:p></o:p></p>
