*The United States - Israel Binational Agricultural Research and
Development Fund (BARD): New Call for Proposals 2025*
June 17, 2025
*Dear Colleagues and Partners,*
Following its recent annual meeting, the BARD Board of Directors is pleased
to announce a significant expansion of the BARD Research Grant Program.
Under the updated funding policy, research awards of up to *$600,000* will
now be available across *all research panels*, marking a major enhancement
of the *Pioneer *track originally launched three years ago to support
high-impact agricultural research.
The *Pioneer Track* is specifically designed to foster bold, innovative
projects that aim to address critical challenges in agricultural science
with tangible, real-world outcomes.
Proposals must demonstrate a clear and practical benefit for both the U.S.
and Israel food production, with a strong emphasis on originality,
scientific excellence, and potential for long-term application.
This track is now open to proposals in all fields of agricultural research,
including:
- Agricultural Engineering
- Animal Health and Production
- Aquaculture
- Desert Farming
- Crop Health and Production
- Soil and Water Resources and Renewable Resources
- Food Products
- Agricultural Economics
In addition, one-year *Feasibility Studies*—designed to test new ideas or
provide initial data—are now eligible for awards of up to *$180,000*.
Please also note that the *guidelines of the Pioneer track have been
updated.*
*The full program guidelines are available online: *
