Updated Biographical Sketch and Other Support Format Pages Available Now and Required January 2022
As announced in March, updated biosketch and other support format pages and instructions are available for use in applications, Just-in-Time (JIT) Reports, and Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs). Use of the new format pages is preferred immediately and required for due dates and submissions on or after January 25, 2022 (NOT-OD-21-110<https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-21-110.html>). This represents a change from the original May 25, 2021 requirement date for the updated formats and other support signatures. The Use of Internet Explorer for eRA Modules is Coming to an End July 19
eRA is phasing out the use of Internet Explorer for all eRA systems due to security concerns. By July 19, 2021, eRA systems will no longer be available when using the IE browser. Are you ready to start building your sponsored project or idea, but do not know what and how much to ask for? If preparing a budget for your grant or contract is daunting for you, come learn the basic elements of how to draft a project budget with confidence.  An effective budget can be a productive tool in driving towards your goals for the entire life of the project. We also need to ensure that we have the funds needed to complete the project successfully and do not to leave resources on the table.

This 3-part series will walk through the development of a project budget including: what costs need to be covered, categorization of budget costs by differing sponsors, utilizing the appropriate rates as required and more. (Each part is 90 minutes in length.)

  *   How to estimate the realistic cost of a project
  *   What other documents you may also need to submit with your proposal

REMINDERS

Grants.gov:  Please use Cayuse Proposal (S2S) as the submission portal for proposals that are sent to Grants.gov.

Many federal agencies require the use of the Grants.gov system for the submission of proposals.  However, as of July 1, 2017, UCR requires the use of Cayuse Proposal (S2S), formerly Cayuse 424, as the system-to-system proposal submission portal for proposals that are sent to Grants.gov.

Why?  Cayuse Proposal simplifies the creation, review, approval, and electronic submission process.  For more information about Cayuse, please click<https://research.ucr.edu/spa/era/cayuse> here.
