[Professorsofteaching] PoT Meeting with Dr. Penny Beuning

Dear UCR Professors of Teaching,

I am emailing to invite you to two special events next week with Dr. Penny
Beuning, the 2026 ARA Distinguished Speaker, during her upcoming visit to
UCR. She is the Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology
at Northeastern University and is a recognized leader in DNA damage
research and the promotion of inclusive excellence in STEM

While she is a guest of the ARA, Professors of Teaching have been invited
to a dedicated session on May 7th to specifically discuss her work in
teaching, mentoring, and faculty development. This is a unique opportunity
to gain insights from a visionary who has successfully integrated
high-level research with transformative educational leadership. Mark your
calendars for the events below:

   - Distinguished Speaker Seminar: *Wednesday, May 6th, from 4:00 PM –
   5:00 PM Location: * SOM Building II Rooms 104/106
   - Special Professor of Teaching Meeting: *Thursday, May 7th, from 1:00
   PM – 1:50 PM Location: *Genomics 1101
